Emerging Infectious Disease
MRIGlobal develops capabilities to detect and protect the nation and the world from emerging infectious disease.
We proactively innovate and develop methodologies to support research in emerging infectious disease detection and surveillance programs both in austere field locations and traditional laboratory environments.
MRIGlobal offers comprehensive assay and protocol development for the detection and surveillance of emerging infectious disease:
Molecular and immunological
Next Generation Sequencing
Prototype development of sample collection, testing, preservation, and transport solutions for austere and non-conventional laboratories
Dr. Joseph Russell conducts emerging infectious disease field surveillance with MRIGlobal’s Mercury Lab.
The MRIGlobal team has years of cumulative field-forward science experience. Our engineers and Global Health biologists collaborated to create Mercury Lab – something between a ‘lab-in-a-backpack’ and a mobile BSL-3+ laboratory. This single, lockable, grab-and-go case can be wheeled through an airport and checked as luggage, thrown in the back of a pickup truck, or even strapped to the back of a motorbike.
